Spatial Clustering of Vegetation Fire Intensity Using MODIS Satellite Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work analyses the spatial clustering of fire intensity in Zimbabwe, using remotely sensed Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) active occurrence data. In order to investigate pattern intensity, MODIS-derived radiative power (FRP) was utilized. A local indicator autocorrelation method, Getis-Ord (Gi*) statistic, applied show distribution high and low clusters. Analysis relationship between topographic variables, vegetation type, agroecological zones done. According study’s findings, majority (44%) fires detected study area 2019 were low-intensity (cold spots), (49.3%) them occurred shrubland. High-intensity (22%) primarily area’s eastern western regions. The findings demonstrate utility statistics methods conjunction with satellite data detecting clusters (hot spots cold spots).

Studying MODIS Satellite Data Capability to Prepare Vegetation Canopy Map in Qazvin Plain Rangelands
Using satellite imagery is a reasonable option to overcome the field visits problems and limitations to evaluate the vegetation cover over the years. The present research has conducted to specify the percentage of vegetation cover of rangelands using Geographic Information System (GIS) and vegetation indices. The study area is located in Qazvin plain rangelands, Iran. In this study, the MODIS s...
متن کاملAnalysis of LAI in Iran based on MODIS satellite data
This study was performed to evaluate the extent of leaf area in Iran from (2002) to (2016) using Remote sensing. For this purpose, we extracted data collection and leaf area index for the Iranian territory from MODIS website. The database was established with programming in MATLAB software to perform mathematical and Statistical calculations repeated. After the analysis of the data in this soft...
متن کاملEstimation of vegetation clumping index using MODIS BRDF data
The foliage clumping index quantifies the degree of the deviation of leaf spatial distribution in the canopy from the random case. It is of comparable importance for ecological models as the leaf area index for quantifying radiation interception and distribution in plant canopies. Previously, an improved angular index named normalized difference between hotspot and darkspot was proposed for ret...
متن کاملAssessment of Drought Severity Using Vegetation Temperature Condition Index (VTCI) and Terra/MODIS Satellite Data in Rangelands of Markazi Province, Iran
The drought caused a series of effects on many sectors of economy, especially natural resources. During two last decades, Iran has suffered from several severe to extreme agricultural droughts which caused significant decreases in rangeland and agriculture yields. This paper discusses the detection of agricultural drought severity over the rangelands of Markazi Province between 2000 and 2014 us...
متن کاملNew Methods of Active Fire Detection Using MODIS Data
Active fire detection using satellite thermal sensors usually involves thresholding the detected brightness temperature in several bands. The frequently used features for fire detection are the brightness temperature in the 4-micron wavelength band (T4) and the brightness temperature difference between the 4-micron and 11-micron bands (dT=T4-T11). The thresholds used are determined empirically ...
